Facts & Financials

The Ventura County Library Foundation was incorporated in 2013 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to supporting Ventura County libraries through community philanthropy. Initial seed funding was provided by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. The Foundation’s Federal Tax ID number is 46-2770894.

The Foundation is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors composed of community leaders representing a wide range of professional experience. The Board carries out the Foundation’s vision through mission-aligned spending in direct support of the Ventura County Library Foundation Strategic Plan.

Financial Transparency and accountability are core values of the Foundation. We publish our IRS Form 990 so donors and community members can clearly see how contributions are managed and invested. The Foundation is also pursuing a Charity Navigator rating to demonstrate strong governance and financial health further.
